The third season was set in Patagonia, Argentina, in South America. The contestants were spread across multiple lakes in the foothills of the Andes mountain range.

Redemption in Mongolia
In Season 5, ten returning participants attempt redemption in Mongolia, a frigid and remote region at the edge of Siberia. There, they will be put to the ultimate test of will and human endurance—surviving as long as they can, completely isolated and alone, with nothing but the contents of a small backpack.
Season 6
In season 6, participants face the most punishing environment yet: The Arctic. Scattered around Canada’s Great Slave Lake—the deepest lake in North America–season 6’s survivalists will endure incredibly cold conditions and a whole slew of new dangerous wild life, like a thriving bear population, territorial moose, packs of wolves, muskox and the stealthy porcupine.
100 Days for $1 Million
Season seven’s participants will face the biggest twist in series history—a 100-day challenge for 1 million dollars. The rules are simple, survive 100 days and win 1 million dollars. Over 6 seasons, no one has ever lasted this long.
Grizzly Mountain
The HISTORY Channel’s hit survival series “Alone” is back like never before and taking place in the most dangerous location yet. In Season 8, 10 contestants fight to survive in the Canadian wilderness on the shores of Chilko Lake, British Columbia. The new season of "Alone" places ten skilled survivalists in the freezing, brutal landscape of Inuvik, Canada, within the Arctic Circle and the northernmost location in series history. The HISTORY Channel's hit survival series "Alone" returns for an epic season 12 on Thursday, June 12 at 9pm ET/PT and heads to Africa! For the first time in series history, ten new survivalists navigate searing heat, foul water, and unpredictable storms in the Great Karoo Desert and face off against exotic animals including warthogs, scorpions, venomous snakes, baboons, Cape buffalo, wildebeest and more.

Vancouver Island 1
And So It Begins
Ten survival experts are dropped off in separate and extremely remote locations on Northern Vancouver Island. Equipped with only limited gear, their years of wilderness experience and supplied with cameras to self-document their journeys, the men are completely isolated from one another as they struggle to live in the wild for as long as they can.
Of Wolf and Man
While predators continue to cause problems for a number of the men, water soon becomes a crucial hurdle for others. From fast rising tides to relentless rains, each of the men must adapt to his new environment or tap out and go home. It's the fear of dehydration that plagues one man as another finds his survival threatened along the shoreline by a rogue wave.
The Talons of Fear
After only a short time in the wild, the men find that extreme isolation is beginning to take its toll. A survivalist undertakes a massive cabin project, one man loses his most important tool and another is charged by a large predator leaving him to fend for his life.
Stalked
As the days pass, the remaining survivalists show signs of cracking. One man battles isolation as another breaks down after missing his daughters 4th birthday. But it's the real dangers of the environment that could spell the end for one participant when he finds himself stalked by a cougar.
Winds of Hell
A punishing storm batters the remaining men and gale force winds rip through their makeshift camps. One survivalist pushes his bush-craft skills to limit trying to find a way to set sail on the turbulent seas.
Rain of Terror
The remaining participants are finally adapting to the unforgiving environment but the search for food leads them into harms way. One man is forced to abandon his new boat miles from camp while the punishing rain forces all of the men to question their ability to remain in the wild.
The Hunger
In the brutally freezing temperatures the hunt for food becomes the paramount focus of the remaining survivalists. While some find gratifying success; others face complete failure and obstacles that beat them down emotionally and push one man to the brink.

The first six men to go home explain their reasons for leaving, plus an exclusive preview of the what’s to come for the remaining participants.
