In Season 2, Jimmy and Gretchen are forced to take their relationship to the next level by moving in together.

After a whirlwind courtship and rough post-cohabitation period, Jimmy and Gretchen try to keep the good times rolling while confronting the f-word—“family”.

Season four kicks off after Gretchen accepted Jimmy's marriage proposal, only to see him leave her stranded in the Hollywood Hills after he freaked out that she would be his family. Now broken up and involved with other people, Jimmy and Gretchen struggle to move on while constantly being pulled back toward one another.
