Season 1
Episode 1
A day before the festival of Eid, Shams-ud-din Iltutmish, the ruler of the Delhi Sultanate, is addressing his subjects. Everyone, including the royal Turkish family, is in a festive mood. Iltutmish has replaced gold coins with silver coins. Shamshad Begum, Iltutmish's mother-in-law, is worried about her dead husband's fame. The Sultan's daughters, Razia and Shazia, are busy preparing special tokens of gift for him. Shamshad Begum is angry with Razia's ignoble behaviour.
Episode 2
Razia gets the third gift for the Sultan from Nizamuddin, a benevolent man who once saved the Sultan from the clutches of a cruel master. The Sultan is delighted to see Razia's gifts. Meanwhile, a messenger of death arrives with news. Fatima, one of Nizamuddin's slaves, is to be buried alive along with her dead master. She appeals to the Sultan and Razia for help. Only Razia, who is privy to more information about this situation, can help her.
Episode 3
In her quest to save Fatima, Razia tries to convince her father to release Fatima. The Sultan explains to her that he cannot bend the law for his daughter. Shamshad Begum punishes Razia for the same and isolates her from the Eid celebrations. Razia is worried about Fatima and is unable to decide between the path of virtue or the path of duty. Razia comes up with a plan to save Fatima.
Episode 4
Razia does the forbidden when she announces that she has witnessed the moon on the eve of Eid. Her bold action brings her in the crosshairs of the imams (religious heads of the Delhi Sultanate) and the commoners. Razia defends her actions by highlighting the discrimination made between men and women. The imams ask the Sultan to apologise to his subjects for his daughter's actions. Shamshad Begum and Qutub Begum, Razia's mother, are anxious.
Episode 5
Iltutmish decides to put his fate in the hands of the people of his kingdom. He asks the people to discard rituals which discriminate between men and women. The people support their Sultan. Razia goes to meet Fatima in prison. Shamshad Begum is unhappy with the Sultan's declaration. Razia helps with the Eid celebrations, while Qutub Begum waits for the Sultan. Razia is glad to see her mother happy. Meanwhile, a stranger makes her way towards the kingdom.
Episode 6
The royal family is enjoying a dance performance on Eid. Qutub Begum is looking forward to sweeping her husband off his feet. She has written a ghazal for her husband. Razia and Shazia plead with their mother to read it out. Before Qutub can complete her ghazal, an unknown voice stops her. Shah Turkan, the Sultan's mistress from Lahore, arrives and disrupts the celebrations. Qutub is shocked at Shah Turkan's audacity to come to her door. Meanwhile, Razia sneaks out of the palace.
Episode 7
Razia sneaks out of the palace to meet Nizamuddin's son. She encounters an arrogant young man harming a kid on her way. She decides to teach the man a lesson, unaware of what her actions might lead to. After reaching home, Razia consoles her mother, who is upset because of the arrival of Shah Turkan. Shamshad Begum alerts the palace household of the mistress's evil intentions. Turkan talks to the Sultan about her son.
Episode 8
Turkan gifts chopped fingers to her son, Rukn-ud-din Firuz. Aadila announces the arrival of Qutub's son, Nasiruddin Mahmud, who is returning after his training. The Sultan presents his daughters with gifts and Razia is delighted. Her happiness fades when she learns of the identity of the arrogant young man she had met. He is her stepbrother, Rukn-ud-din Firuz, son of Iltutmish and Shah Turkan. Qutub Begum slaps Shah Turkan when she learns about the Sultan's plan to spend Eid with Turkan.
