In the end, Pete is glad that he's been dumped by Lauren because it made him forget about Melissa which means he's ready to start dating again.

Berg throws 24 year-old Pete a fake 30th birthday party so he can meet a woman he's had a thing for years. Meanwhile, Sharon awaits a call back from a guy she really likes, unaware that he already has.
