Series 1

Series 2
As season two begins, momentous changes await indomitable nurse Sarah Adams and the wealthy Bligh family. Sarah and dashing George Bligh contend with the machinations of his mother to drive them apart. George’s daughter, Anna, is determined to prove her love for the unsuitable Gino, while son James and his pregnant wife, Olivia, face fierce challenges to their marriage.

Series 3
As Australia faces internal and external threats to its way of life so too do the people of Inverness, and previous alliances and relationships are tested. Sarah's dilemma between her feelings for George and her duty to her husband Rene is exacerbated by a heartbreaking secret. James and Olivia’s relationship is under pressure by the desire of physical fulfilment, while the true parentage of baby George is threatened with exposure. Elizabeth Bligh’s decision to leave Ash Park to explore a life of her own proves more difficult than she thought. The difference between the fairy tale romance of Anna and Gino and the reality of married life threatens to tear them apart.

As season four begins, nurse Sarah Nordmann and the wealthy Bligh family face new challenges amid sweeping social change in 1950s Australia. Villainous Regina has finally ensnared Bligh patriarch and political aspirant George in marriage, but she continues to plot against Sarah, exploiting the rising fear of Communism to target her rival. As Sarah teams up with formidable dowager Elizabeth to expose Regina, James and his estranged wife, Olivia forge a fragile peace, and Anna strives to advance her literary career.

The holiest day in the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur, is fast approaching. It’s a time for Sarah to reflect on her conduct - to repent her own failings and forgive others for theirs.

Anna and Gino’s romance continues to blossom prompting him to propose.

Anna asks her Aunt Carolyn for help in procuring contraception for her and Gino.

Worlds Apart
Elizabeth is rushed to hospital where Jack confirms she has suffered a heart attack. Jack tenderly looks after Elizabeth as she recovers. Heavily sedated and rambling, Elizabeth comes close to revealing a secret of her past. Elizabeth's frail health sees Anna and Gino decide to postpone telling their families about their relationship, but when Carla finds Anna's contraception hidden in her room, she becomes suspicious and confronts Gino.
