A drama set in the East End of London in 1889, during the aftermath of the "Ripper" murders. The action centres around the notorious H Division – the police precinct from hell – which is charged with keeping order in the chaotic streets of Whitechapel. Ripper Street explores the lives of characters trying to recover from the Ripper's legacy, from crimes that have not only irretrievably altered their lives, but the very fabric of their city. At the drama's heart our detectives try to bring a little light into the dark world they inhabit.

Season 1
Haunted by the failure to catch London's most evil killer, Jack the Ripper, Inspector Edmund Reid now heads up the notorious H Division - the toughest police district in the East End.
Season 2
The memory of Jack the Ripper may have faded but the Whitechapel streets he walked are more dangerous than ever.
Season 3
After a locomotive disaster, Reid's iron grip on 'H' Division begins to unravel.
Season 4
In 1897, Reid has given up his detective work and lives in Hampton-on-Sea with Matilda. When his old friend Isaac is accused of murder, he is drawn back to Whitechapel to investigate. Meanwhile Drake is now head inspector of Whitechapel and still employs Jackson who has given up his drinking and gambling in order to save money to free Susan from prison.
Season 5
Returning to a dark secret they all share and to a Whitechapel terrorised by an all too familiar horror, Series Five sees the show’s heroes take on a serial killer with subhuman desires, but a superhuman ability to avoid being apprehended.

What Use Our Work?
Reid is adrift, his team in pieces and Leman Street shaken to its foundations following recent events. A kidnapping offers him cause to assemble his men and tackle the white slavery ring operating in their midst. But Reid is gripped by a growing obsession that this leads back to the terrible secret from his own past.
