Fifteen-year-old Wendy lives at Lindentree, a riding school and horse stud, with her parents Charles and Helen. Mad about horses and fiercely devoted to family and friends, Wendy's life primarily revolves around winning a place on the national junior show jumping team, and saving Lindentree from outside forces.

Wendy Thorburn is uncertain about her feelings for Mark Benson, one of the riding instructors. Things become even more confusing when Mark, in an effort to discourage another infatuated schoolgirl, kisses Wendy in front of a stable yard full of people.
Episode 2
Wendy checks herself into a health farm for a makeover to impress Mark. Vanessa experiences a melt down preparing for the school fashion competition but Harry has a cure. And Cathy receives a proposal from David.

Wendy takes pity on a neglected horse, is naughty and steals it from Eric Cameron's land. Bianca's plea to Paul for new riding boots gains her little ground, but she doggedly goes into business for herself. And why is Cathy an anxious bride to be?
Episode 4
Wendy and Helen go to work on Charles to try to persuade him to buy Miss Dixie, the neglected horse Wendy stole from Eric's land. Meanwhile, Bianca protests against a new range of cosmetics she believes has been tested on animals.

A western riding champion comes to stay at the riding school in an effort to find out why his favourite horse has been performing badly. Charles suspects sabotage when his horse trailer jack-knifes and he is unable to compete in an important competition. And Miss Dixie strikes up a friendship with a stray dog.

Alice catches Vanessa giving Casey a massage. Mark confronts the Rainers about the possibility that someone has been doping Silver. And Charles savours sweet revenge.

Casey denies that he has been doping Silver and Bianca does a runner.
Episode 8
Max plays Charles and Williams off against each other, Paul is over Bianca's disappearance and Alice has doubts about Vanessa's brave face.
