About
Gu Yi is a stand-up comedian in Shanghai who juggles a day job and nighttime performances. Her simple goal is to make everyone laugh, but one day she encounters an audience member, Liang Daiwen, who seems immune to her humor. This leads to an unexpected clash between a woman driven by comedy and a man who never laughs.

Overwhelmed
Following a friend’s advice, Liang Dai Wen attends a stand-up comedy show. By day, Gu Yi works as an editor at a magazine; by night, she performs stand-up at Ounce. She confidently tells her friend Yu Du Le, who also works part-time at Ounce, that she will get the whole crowd laughing that evening. Unfortunately for her, seated right in the front row is Liang Dai Wen, who is incapable of laughing. No matter how hard Gu Yi tries, he just won't crack a smile.
Redeeming Past Failures
Guan Xing Xin reluctantly takes the job her adoptive parents arranged for her at a magazine company. Zhang Jun Jie hadn’t expected such an “odd character” to show up, and Gu Yi feels even more disheartened.
Could He Be a Robot?
Gu Yi wakes up in Ounce with no memory of Liang Dai Wen bringing her home. They run into each other by chance at the sports park, where Liang Dai Wen gets hit by a flying basketball yet still shows no expression at all.
It's a Harsh Reality
Guan Xing Xin and Liang Dai Wen seek solace at Ounce. Gu Yi is surprised to see the two of them together, and Liang Dai Wen immediately explains that Guan Xing Xin is not his girlfriend.
Communication Disorder
Liang Dai Wen is having dinner with Gu Yi and asks him to recommend some good romantic dramas to learn from. Liang even puts on a fake smile for Gu Yi, and that's when Gu Yi realizes that Liang Dai Wen can't actually feel emotions at all.
Emotional Status
Liang Dai Wen admits to Gu Yi that he has alexithymia and hopes Gu Yi won't hold any prejudice against him. Gu Yi encourages Liang Dai Wen to share his trauma.
The Woman In His Dreams
Liang Dai Wen and Gu Yi talks about his condition. She asks him who he dreams about when he sleepwalks. Liang Dai Wen dreams of his mother, but he lies and says he doesn't dream about anyone.
A Relationship Killer
Gu Yi tries to create a romantic atmosphere at home. But in the end, the aromatic candles light up the mess on the table. When Liang Dai Wen returns home and sees that, he knows that Gu Yi is worried about him. He decides to tell Gu Yi about his previous girlfriends.
