About
The family of Wong Yuk-Ting, the chairman of a five-star hotel chain, has always assumed that the business would be passed down to the younger generation. But when Yuk-Ting suddenly dies and the business is strangely handed to an outsider named Ko Fung, the family goes up in arms, and Ko Fung quickly becomes embroiled in a tangled power struggle with the family.

Episode 1
Chief Executive of Royal Court Hotel, WONG YUK-TING, suffers from ill-health and decides to hand over his business to his two eldest sons, KAI-YIP and KAI-CHI, progressively. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of conflict between YIP and CHI and, due to their poor management skills, their hotel business is going down rapidly. KAI-KIT, the son of TING and his second wife, HO KIT-WAN, is a rebellious young man. He does not get on with TING and the two of them often end up in quarrels. TING’s former brother-in-law, CHEUNG WING-FAT, has inherited a certain number of shares in Royal Court Hotel from his late sister, the first wife of TING. Some years ago FAT was expelled from the Board of Directors as a result of making a serious mistake. Episode 2
KIT is accused of dangerous driving which has caused the death of TING. SUM offers to be KIT’s alibi witness and the lad is released right away. Since TING’s death, YIP and CHI have been in dispute over the legacy of their father. The brothers have even driven WAN, who is not officially married to TING, out of the family. While the dispute continues, FUNG, who is now holding a majority of the shares, turns up to take up the post of Chief Executive of Royal Court Hotel. Manager of the Communications Division, KOO PIK KEI, would like to hold a memorial service for TING but the idea is rejected by FUNG as he is worried that this will affect the image of the hotel. FAT asks to join the Board of Directors but FUNG turns him down straight away, which irks FAT no end. CHI has bribed KEI to get him more information of FUNG. FUNG manages to resolve a number of crises facing the hotel.… ...
Episode 3
FUNG drops a hint that he would let FAT join the Board of Directors but it is KIT who ends up being the new member. Thinking that he has been tricked, FAT decides to side with CHI against FUNG. The travel agency run by FAT is a close business partner of Royal Court Hotel. To seek revenge, FAT proposes to terminate the partnership agreement with the hotel. FUNG offers FAT better terms and conditions hoping that this will change his mind. FAT finally accepts the offer for the sake of money. FUNG encourages WAN to pursue a legal claim against the WONGS, for which KIT is so grateful. FUNG has invited TING’s right-hand man KUEN to be KIT’s assistant. KIT has been very independent and is not used to being accompanied by anyone. He tries to turn down the idea of hiring an assistant but in vain.… ...
Episode 4
YIP and CHI force WAN to surrender all her shares in Royal Court Hotel, which disgusts KIT so much and once again drags him into a row with his brothers. A customer accuses the hotel of providing unclean food. KEI, who is well experienced in dealing with sensitive problems, has the conflict resolved quickly and receives much praise from FUNG. FUNG carries out an investigation into the food-poisoning case and YIP’s wife, IP CHU-LEE, who is responsible for food purchasing, tries to pin the blame on Kin Kee. To cover up the truth, she even forces the Head Chef YAN to go on leave. SUM cannot bear to see her parents being wronged and goes to ask LEE for an explanation. With KIT’s help, SUM is finally able to find out the source of the food poisoning. Now that Kin Kee is proved innocent, SUM is so thankful to KIT. KEI tries to approach FUNG and con him into believing that they have slept together.… ...

Having read the letter to FUNG from TING, WAN decides to give all her shares to FUNG for free. KIT runs into LONG, a good friend he made in prison. Later he finds out that LONG is the brother of SUM. KIT discovers that FUNG has been looking for his biological father, which makes him suspect that he is not really the son of TING. Having spotted a photo of himself and KEI inside her office, FUNG comes to believe that the two of them have had sex before. SUM has dinner with KIT. She is not only old-fashioned in her looks but also gives off a fishy smell, which makes her a most unwelcome guest to the restaurant. Having got the cold shoulder from the waiter, SUM is a little upset. KIT gives her a lot of fashion advice and successfully turns her into a gorgeous young lady. SUM is so grateful for his help and starts to fall for him. On the surface, KEI seems to be working for CHI, but in fact she is sent by FAT to approach FUNG.… ...
Episode 6
LONG tries to do KIT a favor by forcing FUNG to return WAN’s shares but FUNG fights back and LONG is beaten almost to death. KIT, who gets drunk, has become a target for a group of thieves. Luckily SUM passes by and manages to drive the thieves away. A member of staff has left a message on the hotel’s official website enumerating all the wrongdoings by FUNG. KIT is suspected to be the one who has left the anonymous message. As appointed by FUNG, CHI is to be responsible for guest reception while YIP is to take charge of the promotion of the Food Festival. CHI is well known for his good PR skills. He is not happy with FUNG’s arrangement. FAT points out that FUNG is on YIP’s side and this will surely pose a serious threat to CHI. CHI believes what FAT says and gets a little jealous. LONG has run up huge debts and is forced to engage in drugs trafficking.… ...
Episode 7
As the head of the Security Section, KIT is willing to take full responsibility for the loss. FUNG makes use of LEE’s greed and successfully kicks YIP out of the Board of Directors. YIP puts the blame on LEE and the couple have a terrible quarrel, after which LEE leaves home in a fit of pique. For SUM’s sake, KIT decides to give away the chess set left by TING to Professor YEUNG in compensation for his loss. YEUNG invites KIT to a chess game and promises to let him keep the chess set if he wins. KIT ends up losing the game. While he is frowning in disappointment, SUM turns up with YEUNG’s chess set. In a drunken stupor, SUM reveals that she is in love with KIT, which surprises KIT beyond measure. FUNG lets CHI take YIP’s place. KIT warns CHI to beware of FUNG, which, however, irks CHI slightly. Fearing that FUNG will spoil the Food Festival, KIT and SUM carry out a final inspection before the event kicks off.… ...
Episode 8
KEI sneaks into FUNG’s office trying to steal information without knowing that FUNG has already set up a hidden spy camera. She gets informed by FAT just in time and ends up doing nothing. FUNG passes the confidential information to CHI under the name of KEI. The next day, FUNG accuses CHI of being involved in theft of information and kicks him out of the Board of Directors right away. KIT is furious to see his brothers being framed one by one. He goes to ask FUNG for an explanation, during which he happens to discover that FUNG has been embroiled in a bitter feud with the WONGS for years. Pretending to have been hurt, KEI blames FUNG for making use of her in his fight against CHI. FUNG tries to intercede for himself but in vain. YIP learns from the hotel’s official website that LEE has been cheating on him. He gets really mad and picks a quarrel with LEE. Feeling deeply wronged, LEE leaves home in a rage.… ...
